Kalshi Election Data Goes Live on DoubleZero Edge Ahead of 2026 Midterms

Kalshi Midterm Hub Now on DoubleZero

Political event markets are ever-growing. While they are an everyday trading opportunity for longer-term, savvy investors, they are truly a seasonal event. And that season is now, with two months to go until the 2026 midterm elections.

Kalshi’s election and politics contracts are now streaming in real time over DoubleZero Edge, giving institutional desks and automated trading systems full-depth order books ahead of November 3. The DoubleZero Foundation said Wednesday that the feed includes Level 1 top-of-book prices and trades plus Level 2 depth aggregated by price, delivered over dedicated fiber instead of the public internet. Midterm volume on Kalshi has already passed the last Congressional election cycle, so desks that once waited on delayed snapshots can now treat House and Senate odds like any other high-speed market.

The politics books now join Kalshi sports contracts and crypto perpetual futures that went live on the same dedicated pipe in August. Andy Ross, head of institutional at Kalshi, said election markets give institutions a real-time, tradable view into how expectations shift as political events unfold. A campaign debate clip, court filing, or late candidate news alert can move a Senate control contract in seconds. We’ve written extensively on PolyPunter about how speed wins markets. Those who get in early on new information get the good prices. Speed itself is the edge.

Austin Federa, co-founder of DoubleZero, made the same case from the infrastructure side. Putting Kalshi’s real-time order book data for election and politics categories on DoubleZero Edge turns those probabilities into machine-ready market data that professional traders and AI systems can consume at once. The DoubleZero feed is subscription-based and read-only. Matching still happens on Kalshi. DoubleZero only moves the tape.

Market Coverage Explosion: 2026 Midterms vs 2024 Cycle

How the DoubleZero Edge Kalshi Feed Works for Institutional Traders

DoubleZero Edge uses multicast over dedicated fiber so one published stream reaches every subscriber at the same instant, a delivery model long used by large listed exchanges. Firms that wanted a production-grade view of Kalshi previously had to stitch APIs and WebSockets themselves. One connection now carries trades, best bids and offers, and aggregated depth across election contracts. It moves at the speed of fiber.

Traders can request access through DoubleZero’s Kalshi page. The September expansion keeps the low-latency path while widening coverage to House control, Senate control, gubernatorial races, and individual contests. Federa has stressed that anyone can subscribe to the same stream and that the pipe does not route or execute trades.

Kalshi still publishes a public Midterms Hub that maps live contract prices onto seat projections and chamber-control combos. The DoubleZero feed does not replace that dashboard. It hands institutional quantitative teams the raw book they need to price, hedge, and generate signals without scraping screens.

2026 Midterms Trading Volume Already Tops the Full 2024 Cycle

Through August 10, more than $133 million had changed hands on 2026 House and Senate races across Kalshi, Polymarket, and Polymarket US, according to Anti-Corruption Data Collective (ACDC) figures. That already exceeds the $92.4 million traded during the entire 2024 congressional cycle.

ACDC examined 7,466 markets tied to those races and found 16 times as many midterm markets as in the prior cycle. Coverage has exploded compared with 2024, said Michelle Kendler-Kretsch, research fellow at ACDC. The group projected full-cycle volume could reach $1.4 billion to $1.6 billion if activity accelerates the way it did two years ago.

Concentration remains sharp. On Polymarket Global, the top 1% of wallets accounted for 68% of congressional volume in the ACDC sample, and ten wallets touched 91% of seats on the ballot. Thin books can still move on modest size, which is why full-depth data matters to automated systems that need resting liquidity, not just the last print. Kalshi’s headline House, Senate, and balance-of-power contracts now carry heavy notional interest, with some earlier primaries drawing tens of millions.

Why Real-Time Political Market Data Matters Before November 3

Unlike the political interest in “who wins” of the general public, institutional desks are using these contracts as a live read on future legislative risk. A swing in Senate control odds can reprice sector hedges, tax-policy trades, and rate-path views if traders expect a different Congress in the final two years of the current administration. Low-latency Kalshi election data lets those adjustments happen on the same clock as the sports and crypto perps already on Edge.

Federa said the fastest data path should not sit behind private rails and unreachable prices. That claim will be tested as more quantitative funds plug in while other traders stay on Kalshi’s public API. The fiber is live. The midterms are not waiting. Traders who want the raw book can start at doublezero.xyz or Kalshi’s live board on Kalshi’s 2026 midterms page.
